New features

Native scheduling coming to LinkedIn?

LinkedIn are testing scheduling within the platform. Currently, this is only possible using third party scheduling tools like SocialPilot (recommended!).

The test also points to full scheduling capability for third-party social media management platforms soon - like carousel posts, which isn't possible currently.

You could soon be paying to use some parts of Facebook

Meta is setting up a product organisation to identify and build “possible paid features” for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

There are already some paid features supported across these platforms. WhatsApp, for example, is working on a paid tier for business users, while some Instagram creators can charge their followers subscription fees.

The project is called New Monetisation Experiences.

At last! Twitter finally gets an Edit Button

Twitter finally has an Edit Button but it will only be available for Twitter Blue (paid subscribers) users who'll be able to make edits in the first 30 minutes.

Tweets can only be edited 5 times and the full edit history will be publically available.

Edited tweets will be labelled as...: 'Last edited along with a date/time stamp'.

The test is a major u-turn for Twitter (one of many!), which just 15 months ago was telling users via its official account that “you don’t need an edit button, you just need to forgive yourself.”
