Mark Zuckerberg plans to put AI features into Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp π€
Mark Zuckerberg has announced Meta's plans to integrate generative AI technology into its major software products, including Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. According to a report by Axios, the new features will include AI text, image, and video generators. For example, users will be able to modify photos using a text prompt and automatically share them on Instagram Stories. WhatsApp and Messenger will reportedly introduce AI agents with varying personalities and capabilities, potentially in the form of chatbots to assist users in gathering information.
This move comes as other tech giants like Microsoft and Snap have already incorporated AI features into their products. Microsoft has AI-based copilots in Office, Bing, and Windows, while Snap has an AI chatbot on Snapchat. Adobe and Salesforce have also introduced AI features in their offerings.
In related news, the EU has urged Zuckerberg to protect children on Instagram, following allegations that Instagram's recommendation algorithm was promoting networks of pedophiles. Zuckerberg has also recently commented on Apple's new Vision Pro headset, highlighting the differing values and visions of the two companies.

It's not easier to Share and Like as your Pages β
I spotted over the weekend that you can now Share to multiple Facebook Pages that you admin at the same time, without switching into each one.
Plus, you can also Like a Page as multiple Pages too,
Comment: Handy! So much better than before and particularly useful if you're an Admin of multiple Pages.
LinkedIn launches generative AI tool to write ad copy π€
LinkedIn has launched a generative AI tool called "AI Copy Suggestions" to assist advertisers in creating text for their ad campaigns. This tool, which follows the lead of Meta, automates the writing part of ad campaigns on the professional network.
AI Copy Suggestions enables users to generate introductory text and headlines for ads. It uses data from the LinkedIn platform to ensure relevancy and allows users to make changes to keep the content aligned with their brand language.
The tool is the latest addition to LinkedIn's portfolio of AI-driven features, which already includes AI tools for collaborative articles, job descriptions, and personalized writing suggestions for LinkedIn profiles.
AI Copy Suggestions works by using OpenAIβs GPT models. Users of the platform will get a toggle to turn on copy suggestions for the ads they plan to post. Once the feature is enabled, as soon as the user begins to draft content for their ad, they will see pre-written, relevant options to choose from and post. The feature uses insights from the userβs brand page on LinkedIn, as well as campaign manager settings like objective, targeting criteria, and audience, to suggest multiple introductory text options as well as up to five headlines for the ad campaign.
The tool is currently being tested in English with a small group of customers in North America. LinkedIn plans to make the feature available in more languages and geographies and add new functionalities in the coming months.
Generative AI tools like this one from LinkedIn could help marketers eliminate repetitive and time-consuming tasks so they can focus on strategic and high-value processes. In a recent survey, 71% of respondents said generative AI technologies will eliminate busywork for them and can save an average of five hours per week.
