LinkedIn Tests New AI Powered ‘LinkedIn Coach’ to Guide Your App usage
LinkedIn is testing a new feature called 'LinkedIn Coach', an AI-powered tool designed to guide users through profile-building and app usage options. The tool is intended to assist users in applying for jobs, learning new skills, and finding more ways to connect with their network.
However, there are concerns that the increasing automation of interactions on the platform could lead to a lack of authenticity and trust. If posts and job applications become automated and start to sound the same, hiring managers may become wary and people may trust the platform less. Despite these concerns, LinkedIn continues to integrate AI into its platform, following the trend of generative AI.

Mark Zuckerberg thinks Threads could be Meta’s next social network with 1 billion users 🧵
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has expressed high expectations for Threads, a competitor to Twitter. During Meta's Q2 earnings call, Zuckerberg highlighted the rapid growth of Threads, which reached 100 million signups faster than any other consumer software product in history. However, it is yet to reach the 1 billion user mark. Despite a slowdown in engagement since the initial rush of signups, Zuckerberg remains confident in the app's potential growth. The primary focus for Threads is to improve retention with current users and add key missing features. Meta has not yet begun to promote Threads on Instagram or Facebook or invest in marketing.
In the Q2 earnings report, Meta revealed better-than-expected earnings, with total revenue of $32 billion and a net income of $7.78 billion. However, its Reality Labs division reported a net loss of $3.7 billion, with management warning investors to expect these losses to increase due to ongoing product development efforts in augmented and virtual reality.
Despite these losses, Meta does not feel pressured to monetize Threads in the near term. Its established social networks — Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp — continue to grow, with Facebook surpassing 3 billion monthly users. Zuckerberg stated that Threads would not introduce ads until it reaches hundreds of millions of users.
