Twitter’s new acquisition could help alert you about only the tweets that actually matter - The Verge
Twitter announced Tuesday that it has acquired OpenBack, a push notifications company. OpenBack offers “device-side control of push notifications,” according to Twitter’s head of consumer product Jay Sullivan, and Twitter could use the team to pull up timely information even when you're away from the app.

TikTok is testing search ads
TikTok is starting to roll out ads within its search results. The video ads have a “Sponsored” label, are located above the “Others search for” section, within the top four results.

Twitter Is Exploring Co-Authored Tweets For Upcoming Collaboration Feature
For Twitter's Collaboration feature, you'll only be able to invite public accounts who follow you to co-author a tweet, and those accounts will also have to accept your invitation, meaning that no one can force someone into a collaboration.

Instagram is working on a dedicated section of customisable links for profiles.
The updated bio could let users add up to seven links including an integrated Facebook profile link.

Twitter reverses embed update
Twitter has rolled back an update which came into effect last week and flagged up here yesterday on how deleted tweets appear when embedded on third-party sites.
Twitter’s update reversal restores embedded deleted tweets to their former display: a blockquote section with text and username still visible but formatting removed.
