All Twitter advertisers required to be 'verified' 🤦

All advertisers on Twitter are now required to be purchase Twitter Blue or be a Verified Organisation but the justification for this doesn't seem quite right.

Comment: This could be the death knell of Twitter and will no doubt reduce Twitter's advertising revenue even further. The email notifying advertisers of this from Twitter doesn't make much sense and will do little to persuade people to subscribe to Twitter Blue. It states that, "Subscribing to either of these services means that you have been verified as a real person or business" but this is not true. There is no id verification or business incorporation verification involved in the application process. Plus Twitter are handing out Twitter Blue badges to opponents of the scheme and to various others, all without id verification and in this case phone numbers and email addresses aren't confirmed.

 

Twitter verifies Britain First 😡

Twitter has verified the (previously banned) far-right party Britain First as an "official organisation" with a gold tick and is giving blue ticks to anyone "affiliated" with it.

Paul Golding it's leader, has been convicted of a terrorist offence.

Comment: Just disgraceful and damaging. I'm not sure how much longer I can stay on Twitter.
