New Notification Feature Bridges Instagram and Threads ๐
On Wednesday I was one of the first people to spot that if you mention someone on Threads who are not there yet, they receive a notification on Instagram. They are also tagged with an Instagram icon (see below).
Insight
This subtle integration could serve as an effective tactic to drive Instagram users towards exploring and signing up on Threads. This move is reflective of a strategic push to foster a tighter-knit ecosystem between Instagram and Threads, potentially amplifying engagement across both platforms. Your Threads Posts Could be Shown to Connections on Facebook and Instagram ๐ชง
Meta is expanding its cross-promotion efforts by displaying Threads posts on Facebook and Instagram. This move aims to boost engagement in Threads, an app that has seen dwindling user activity recently.
The new feature allows Threads posts to appear in a side-scrolling feed on Instagram and also in the Facebook news feed. While this may increase visibility and engagement for Threads users, it also means that your Threads posts could be seen by a wider audience, including family members and other connections on Facebook whom you may not necessarily want to share with.
Insight:
While this feature could be a double-edged sword, it's a clear indication of Meta's intent to integrate its various platforms more closely. Users should be cautious about what they post on Threads, especially if they have different networks on Facebook and Instagram. An opt-out feature is expected to be added soon.

Meta Expands Broadcast Channels to Facebook and Messenger ๐ข
Meta Expands Broadcast Channels to Facebook and Messenger Published on 18 10 2023
Meta has rolled out its broadcast channels feature to Facebook and Messenger, following its success on Instagram. The feature essentially acts as a one-way group chat, allowing users to follow creators and high-profile individuals who can then keep their audience updated via Direct Messages (DMs).
The move comes as more conversations are shifting to messaging platforms, providing a valuable avenue for ongoing connection. This feature allows creators to maintain a more intimate relationship with their audience without the concerns of algorithmic suppression, meaning that posts are more likely to be seen by followers.
On Facebook, these broadcast channels will be prominently displayed on creator pages. Creators will also have the option to promote their channels in their feed. Pages can create a broadcast channel within Messenger, reaching their audience's inbox with the latest updates. Additionally, pages will be able to share voice notes, text, photos, videos, and GIFs within their channel chats, enhancing community connection and engagement.
For brands, this could be another avenue to strengthen their relationship with fans. Currently, the feature is only available to creators on Instagram, but Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced that brand pages will also be able to create channels in the app.
Insight:
This new feature could be a game-changer for brands, businesses and creators looking to foster direct engagement with their most dedicated audiences. It's an opportunity to bypass algorithmic limitations and connect more authentically with followers.

From access to the advanced GPT-4 model to third-party plugins and Advanced Data Analytics, the service promises value for both individual users and businesses. However, it's not without its limitations, such as a cap on the number of prompts and competition from free services like Bing Chat.

Pros:
Enhanced Responses with GPT-4: The GPT-4 model offers better understanding and more efficient responses compared to its predecessor, GPT-3.5.
Artistic Capabilities with DALLยทE 3: The service provides access to DALLยทE 3, OpenAI's image generation AI, enhancing visual storytelling.
Real-Time Internet Browsing: ChatGPT Plus can browse the internet via Bing to provide up-to-date information.
Advanced Data Analytics: The feature allows for data analysis and visualisation, aiding in decision-making.
Expandable Functionality: Users can integrate third-party plugins to extend the chatbot's capabilities.
Priority Access: Subscribers get early access to new features and better service availability.
Cons: Limited Number of Prompts: Users can only send 50 messages every three hours, which may be limiting for some.
Free Alternatives: Bing Chat offers some of the features for free, making it a competitor to consider.
Insight:
While ChatGPT Plus offers a plethora of features that can be valuable for various use-cases, it's essential to weigh these against the limitations and free alternatives available. As OpenAI continues to scale, we can expect some of these limitations to be lifted, making the service even more compelling.
