New features

New shopping features on Twitter

Twitter’s currently testing these features new products for retailers including Product Drops and Product Detail Pages. iOS only in the US for now.

Product Drops look similar to ads, with brands able to set captions for product images which redirect to Product Detail Pages that give customers more information. Pages include relevant hashtags so you can see what fans are saying.

Customers tap ‘Remind me’ at the bottom of the Tweet to receive an in-app notification 15 minutes before and at the time of the drop.

Notifications redirect to the Product Detail Page when tapped, which will include a link to the merchant’s website to purchase.

New avatars on TikTok

TikTok has launched avatars that users caN customise as virtual representations of themselves for use in TikTok videos.

Invite connections limit for Page increased to 250

I spotted yesterday that the option to invite connections to LinkedIn Page has now increased to 250 from 100 connections per month. Also, you now get a credit if invitation accepted now which I don't think that was the case before.

No more web labels in Contact info on LinkedIn

I spotted yesterday that it's no longer possible to add a label to website addresses under Contact info. You used to be able to select Other then add a label but not any more. Shame.

I'm guessing this is probably because of the new website link with label you can now add to the top of your profile - see tip below.

NFTs on Instagram

Instagram is working on the display Digital Collectibles (NFTs) collections.

Tips

Add a prominent web link to your LinkedIn Profile

A reminder that you can now add a web link to the top part of your LinkedIn Profile to drive traffic to your website or elsewhere. Mine directs to my Linktree - see image below.

Pro-tip: Use capitals to describe your link
